Rooted FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

We launch Life Groups through an 11-week discipleship journey called Rooted. The experience helps you connect to God, the church, and your purpose while laying a foundation for covenant community. At the end of the 11 weeks, your group will commit to continuing on as a Life Group.

At The Creek, Life Groups play a key role in our formation. We believe that growing in relationship with Christ happens best in the context of community. If you call The Creek home and you are ready to commit to a Life Group, we encourage you to join Rooted.

We launch new Life Groups through Rooted twice a year in February and August. During Rooted sessions, groups meet at the church. Groups are offered on Sunday mornings (9-1050am) and Tuesday evenings (630-830pm).

Yes, the cost is $40/person. This fee will help offset the cost of your participant guide, printed materials for participants, and facilitators. Scholarships are available.

Children's programming will be offered for groups that meet on Tuesday evenings. For Sunday morning groups, children will be able to stay in Creek Kids during and in between services.

Being a part of a Life Group is a commitment. Rooted helps groups practice the spiritual discipline of community. Your presence with your group matters! Whenever someone isn’t present, the group’s dynamics are impacted. We understand that availability can be impacted by work schedules, illness, travel, school events, and youth sports. We would love to help you troubleshoot any obstacles you that are preventing you from making a commitment. Reach out to our team at contact@thecreek.org.

Sometimes we connect people to established Life Groups, but most often we encourage people to connect with a new group launched through Rooted. When joining a Life Group, completing Rooted is not the goal of the group's time together, but rather an experience that fosters relationships that are the foundation of covenant community. If you'd like to have a conversation about this process, please reach out to our team at contact@thecreek.org.

We don't rely on any specific formula in creating groups. Life Groups at The Creek come in all shapes and sizes. Some groups are all women, all men, all married couples, or all similar stage of life. More and more, groups are becoming multi-generational with a mix of married and unmarried members in the same group. During registration we ask for your group type preference and also if there are other people you intend to have in your group (e.g., an existing life group). We do our best to honor these requests when possible. Throughout the process we humbly pray for the Lord to put the people together as He would see fit. We expect Him to move and earnestly trust Him in this process. It has been humbling and awesome to hear the frequent feedback from participants on how they can see the Lord’s hand on assembling their group together.

We launch Life Groups through Rooted in February and August. The groups receive significant staff support during Rooted and this timing tends to align best with the rhythms of the calendar year. If you find yourself desiring to take a next step and connect with others while you wait for the next session to kick off, we encourage you to consider joining a serving team. Serving on a team is a great way to get to know others and grow closer to God. To talk to a staff person about serving reach out to contact@thecreek.org.
