The Creek has been sending teams to Sierra Leone since 2009 focusing in three primary areas. The Bombali School for the Blind seeks to meet the temporal and spiritual needs of the students and staff while striving to become fully sustainable. The Creek sends a group to fit local amputees in Makeni with custom prosthetics. It is our vision to use these opportunities to create disciples and plant a church in Makeni.
The Bombali School currently helps 43 primary school children and accommodates another 17 who are integrated into mainstream secondary education. It currently has a waiting list. The school has dormitories, where bunk beds and mattresses were recently provided. New classrooms have been built, but the school remains in need of support. It is recognized by the Government but has yet to receive any state funding.
